On July 14th, BLACKPINK released the first official trailer of their upcoming movie. In the 1 minute and 15-second video, one can see all that the members have been through, both as a group and individually. BLACKPINK has made a huge name for itself when it comes to popularity. The four-member band is only seconded by the septet boy band BTS when it comes to their magnitude of global stardom. This year is very special for them and indeed a milestone moment in their careers.

In the main trailer for BLACKPINK THE MOVIE, one can see the rise of BLACKPINK as a global pop culture superpower. It starts with the headlines that the group made when they first debuted. In the background, one can hear slight traces of their music playing. It starts with Whistle and then moves on to How You Like That. The members are also heard recollecting their experiences and their current states of mind with regard to how far they’ve come. In the meanwhile, you will see clips from their concerts and practices on your screen.

About halfway through the video, at about 36 seconds, you get a glimpse of the band performing on stage in a sold-out concert. The clip is bound to give you goosebumps with just the sheer size of the crowd. Jennie says that going on stage is one of the best parts of being an artist. However, the video is not all flowery. BLACKPINK THE MOVIE will hit theatres worldwide on two dates – August 4th and August 8th. In the past, the band had released a similar project in collaboration with Netflix. It was in 2020 that BLACKPINK Light Up The Sky premiered on Netflix. This movie followed the band’s process of making music and their Coachella experience in 2019. However, this time, BLACKPINK THE MOVIE will have a theatrical release instead. So here’s how you can watch it.

Unfortunately, BLACKPINK THE MOVIE will only be available in selected theatre outlets. The movie will be released in SCREEN X, 4DX, and 4DX SCREEN. So, if there’s any cinema outlet that offers these screens near you, please be on the lookout for their release announcements.

On the work front, BLACKPINK is very busy with each member’s solo projects. Lisa, the group’s maknae, will release her debut album in August. No specific dates have been announced yet, but these are the speculations. Rosé, the second youngest member of the band, debuted earlier this year.
